The Presence of Solitude

In the presence of solitude, I meet with my true, authentic self
I become one with my Creator
I want for nothing else,

I hold tightly to this presence because it’s not meant to stay
I get peace from within
I let go of all dismay,

As if a shadow was cast upon me, no distractions can befall
I recognize my abundance
Indeed, I have it all,

In the stillness and calm, I journey within
I meditate, I enter a realm where there’s no end,

Here I sit, tapped into a place of gratitude
This is me, embracing in The Presence of Solitude.

What is necessary, after all, is only this: solitude, vast inner solitude. To walk inside yourself and meet no one for hours – that is what you must be able to attain.” ~ Rainer Marie Rilke

Nature’s Secret

With the wind blowing against my face, I meet with this empty mountain trail.

The gray sky hovers above.

As the trees in the distance crack, I pause to further observe my surroundings.

I question, how does nature sit here so peacefully, despite all these changes?

What makes her so content with this emptiness?

What inspires her to keep going to fulfill her purpose even in this barren season?

The answer to my questions are revealed as I glance at the leafless, yet proudly standing trees.

It was as if nature was kind enough to share her secret with me.

With the wind continuing to beat against my face, I walk towards this cold, barren trail.

Emptiness surrounds me.

No one else is here.

Nonetheless, I begin my journey because nature has shared with me her secret.

…that secret?

It’s patience.

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
